I took these pics at the Retro Car at Santa Pod Raceway back in 2004. A great collection of older modified cars that were on display in the carpark, show and racing on the strip.
Here are some pics from a visit to Oulton Park in Cheshire for the the BARC North West Sports/Saloon Championship and the Classic Saloon & Historic Touring Car Championships. Always a great variety of cars in action, well worth a trip to watch both these race series. The NWSSC has everything from old Modsports Lotus Elan’s to hi-tech Lotus Europa’s and a crazy V8 mid-engined, tube chassis, Ford Sierra.
The Japanese D1 drivers returned to Silverstone again in 2006 for another exhibition match against the best European drivers. It was another great day of action. The eventual winner of the event was Yasuyuki Kazama.
2nd October 2005. The day the D1GP circus came to Silverstone for the first time. The top Japanese D1 drivers came to compete in an exhibition match again the best European drivers. It was great to see the best of the best compete at this high speed circuit. A full day of screaming engines and tyre smoke!!!
GT Battle was held at Rockingham Circuit in the summer of 2005. The event was the forerunner to the EDC & Time Attack events as we know today. After watching various DVD’s of the Japanese D1 Drift series it was my first chance to watch the Japanese Pro’s Live aswell as the best UK drivers. Kazama & Nomuken performed demos during the day and it was amazing to watch their speed and angle in person. The quality of my pics from the day are not that great as they were taken on my first cheap digi cam!!!
