Been on holiday this week, but on my travels managed to swing in past Donington Park for a few hours to visit the Donington Grand Prix Collection. The exhibition has a wide range of old Grand Prix cars from years past. Cars from the 1930’s right through to present day F1 machines. There is also a great collection of Grand Prix memorabillia ranging from old photographs to driver helmets and old F1 engines. It really is a fantastic collection of old race cars, and well worth a visit. Anyway here are a few pics:-

Following on from the pics of Doune Hillclimb last weekend here is a video sample of the event. Not the best quality, might have to invest in a proper video camera for next season!!
Last weekend saw the final rounds of the 2009 Scottish & British Hillclimb Championships at Doune in Perthshire. I went along on the Sunday to take in the sights & sounds and get some photos & videos. A great days action on this most daunting of Hills. Due to the overcast conditions and lack of camera skills the pics are not the best!! Videos to follow over the next few days.
Rounds 14 & 15 of the Guyson Scottish Sprint Championship took place last weekend at Boyndie Kart Track in North Aberdeenshire. I went along to see round 15 on the Sunday, the final round of the 2009 Championship. Here are a few pics from the day. Video to follow……
Well I decided to head back to Fintray today to catch some more Hillclimb action. Was another great day, weather was good in the afternoon and more class records were broken. Here’s my pics from todays event:-
Went along to round 8 of the Scottish Hillclimb Championship today. It was held at Fintray House, just outside Aberdeen, and organised by the Grampian Automobile Club. It was a nice warm sunny day, and a few class records were broken. A good day out, and a great mix of cars competing. Anyway here are a few pics of the day:-
Part 2:- Here are some pics of the competition cars in the paddock at Classic Speedfair. Also a few of the action from the Scottish Classic Sports & Saloon Championship.
I went down to Knockhill Racing Circuit on Sunday for the Classic Speedfair event. There was a wide range of cars on display, everything from 50’s classics right through to some modern exotics. There was also lots of track action during the day, including a round of the Scottish Classic Sports & Saloon Championship as well as various classic rallying demonstrations. Pics of the classic race cars to come in Part 2.
Anyway, here are some pics of the cars in the static display areas.
I went along today to watch the practice runs for round 9 of the Scottish Sprint Championship. This 2 day event, organised by the Grampian Automoblie Club was held at the small, tight Alford Sprint Circuit on the grounds of the Grampian Transport Museum. The bonus for me is that the track is just over a mile from my house!!! No early starts!!! Anyway here are a few pics from the day:-
